On our Ananda retreats, you’ll find a new dedication and excitement about your practice, building strength, endurance and flexibility in your body, as you get the opportunity to disconnect from technology, and find the time to reflect on life and drop into true presence.

At Ananda Yoga Retreats, all our yoga sessions and extra activities are optional, just in case you would prefer to do your own thing, and take off to explore the many walks and attractions The Lake District has to offer.

 We have lovingly thought through each detail in order to allow you to unravel completely and relax into an experience of pure bliss.

A typical day at Ananda's 

  • 7.15 - 8:00 | Pre practice morning teas, coffees & energy balls

  • 8:00 - 11.00 | Morning practice

  • 11.30 | Brunch 

  • 11:30-18.00 | Free time to relax, enjoy the magical scenery on one of our guided walks, partake in water sport activities  or indulge with our Holistic Therapy team

  • 16:00 - 17:30 | Vegan gluten free healthy cakes ~ pre practice afternoon snacks

  • 18:00 - 20.00| Evening practice, a soothing mix of restorative yoga, yin yoga, meditation and pranayama

  • 20:00 | Evening 2 course dinner

Paddle Boarding 

There is nothing more magical than paddle-boarding on the idilic waters of Lake Coniston. Our paddle board yoga instructor will guide you through the basics, suitable for all levels, even those with no previous paddle board experience. The price for a 2.5hr paddle board session is £50, full equipment, including board, paddle, life jacket and wetsuits are provided.

This historic period property is located on the Eastern shores of Coniston Water in the Lake District. The venue’s elevated position provides sensational views of the lake and high fells beyond, with the village of Coniston within walking distance.

Located in the peaceful picturesque valleys of Grasmere within walking distance of the quaint town of Grasmere and its waters.

It’s difficult to overstate the beauty of the Lake District. The area’s sparkling lakes, secret valleys and picturesque stone-built villages have captivated generations of visitors from all over the world.

Our retreats provide the perfect base to explore all that the Lakes has on offer, while ensuring you receive the optimal healing experience. 

Ananda Yoga Retreats - "A simple must"

Literally the best retreat I could have dreamed of! I was initially hesitant to book a holiday like this alone, but all reservations soon went out of the window!

Once I had booked onto the retreat, Madeline set up a Whatsapp group for the guests to introduce ourselves and possibly share lifts to the villa. This was great as it meant we could meet at the airport on arrival and arrange to share a taxi together.

We arrived at the villa early afternoon and our rooms weren't quite ready so we were able to leave our luggage at the villa and walked down to the nearby beach for lunch.

We arrived back at the villa a couple of hours later to a lovely glass of cold fresh juice, and were shown to our rooms, where there were flower petals and a personalised post card welcoming us to the experience.

Each morning we had a fresh juice ready for us, before our morning practice, followed by a lovely breakfast. We had the day to enjoy free time, either relaxing by the pool, or heading down to the nearby beach. Lunch was around 1.30pm and always delicious, followed by more free time. Evening practice was around 6pm, followed by even more incredible food.

One day we were even treated to have dinner down on the beach - lucky to experience the most amazing backdrop, watching the sunset over the water.

Five days of complete relaxation and self-indulgence, and being fed the most amazing vegan food paired with Susi's yoga teaching expertise. Mind and body completely refreshed.

Ready to book onto next year's retreat already!
