About the event
Our weekend retreat programme has been thoughtfully designed to offer an immersive experience that nurtures your body, calms your mind and restores your nervous system, allowing you to return home feeling deeply rested and renewed.
Our January retreat, set in the peaceful surroundings of Grasmere in the heart of the Lake District, is inspired by the element of Water. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is the season of Water — a time of stillness, restoration and reflection. Associated with the kidneys and bladder, this element invites us to slow down, conserve our energy and reconnect with ourselves. Just as nature retreats beneath the surface during winter, we too are encouraged to honour periods of rest, trusting that within stillness lies the foundation for growth and renewal.
Throughout the weekend, every yoga practice is carefully designed to cultivate softness, fluidity and ease in both body and breath. Through mindful movement, breathwork, meditation and restorative practices, we gently release physical tension, quiet the mind and create space for balance and healing. Each class is adapted to those attending, making the retreat welcoming for all levels of experience.
Our seasonal menus are thoughtfully prepared to complement the Water element, using nourishing, wholesome ingredients that support rest, warmth and vitality. Every meal becomes part of the retreat experience, helping to replenish your body while supporting the deeper restorative journey taking place throughout the weekend.

Teacher – Rebecca
Rebecca has been teaching yoga for over five years, though her love of movement began long before that through dance. After training professionally and graduating in 2018, yoga became a lifeline during a challenging chapter of her life and has since become an integral part of her daily life.
Her classes are trauma-informed and rooted in the connection between mind and body, drawing inspiration from nature and our innate relationship with it. Through breathwork, meditation and thoughtfully sequenced movement, Rebecca creates a safe, supportive space that encourages presence, self-awareness and curiosity.
Committed to honouring the traditional teachings of yoga while making them accessible to modern life, Rebecca continues to deepen her studies through the work of Ram Dass, Dr Gabor Maté and ongoing professional training. She has completed advanced studies in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Mandala Yoga, Rocket Yoga, Yin Yoga, Trauma-Informed Yoga, Aerial Yoga and Crystal Sound Healing, bringing a thoughtful and compassionate approach to every class.
Yoga Workshops Included in Your Retreat
Suitable for all levels, your retreat includes Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga with Soundhealing experiences led by Rebecca.
Vinyasa Flow
Derived from the Sanskrit meaning “to place in a special way”, Vinyasa links movement with breath in a continuous, mindful practice. More than simply a physical exercise, it offers an opportunity to cultivate presence, self-awareness and a deeper connection to yourself.
Each practice begins with pranayama (breathwork) and/or meditation before moving through intelligently sequenced flows that combine functional movement with creative exploration. Drawing inspiration from Mandala Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Rocket Yoga and Yin Yoga, each session is woven together with the philosophy of yoga to create practices that are both energising and deeply grounding.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga offers an invitation to slow down, soften and simply be. Through longer-held, supported postures, we gently work with the body’s deeper connective tissues while creating space for stillness and reflection.
In a world that often encourages constant doing, Yin provides an opportunity to pause and listen. As we remain present with sensations, thoughts and emotions, we begin to develop greater awareness, resilience and self-compassion. Rather than pushing or striving, the practice teaches us the value of surrender, acceptance and patience.
Many guests describe Yin Yoga as one of the most restorative aspects of the retreat, helping them release accumulated tension, calm the nervous system and return home with a greater sense of balance, clarity and inner peace.
